The buzz about Microsoft's Origami Project continues with an anonymous source close to Microsoft telling The Associated Press today that Origami is a paperback-sized computer that will run Microsoft's regular Windows XP operating system.
If this is what Origami is, then it seems like the perfect solution for students.
Although I haven't seen this Origami format, I found the Tablet PC to be a better idea than anticipated, except in the convertible format, which usually negated its benefits by including either a too-large battery-eating screen, or a non-detachable keyboard, for those who would miss their security blanket.

 Possible Origami pic surfaces on the web - Engadget
This pic surfaced over the weekend, and is purportedly a new shot of the Origami device.
For the record, we think it's fake, both because the EXIF header includes a little reference to Photoshop CS (yes, we know that could've been used to optimize it for the web, but still...), and because it looks nothing like the version of Origami that our sources have told us is real.
Regardless, somehow we suspect this isn't the last creative rendition of Origami we're likely to see before Microsoft lifts the curtain on the genuine article.
