Origin (album) - The Evanescence Reference
Bigwig Enterprises stopped selling Origin in early February 2003 (a day or two before the Daredevil Soundtrack album was released) and removed it from their catalogue.
The original release contained a hidden track, which is located before the first track.
The end of the album was originally supposed to include the song Listen To The Rain between the songs Eternal and Demise.

Origin (demo CD) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Origin was the first full length demo CD released by Rock band Evanescence on the Big-Wig Enterprises label.
Although some people consider this to be Evanescence's first album, the lead singer Amy Lee has explicitly said that she doesn't consider it to be an album but rather a "dressed up" demo CD.
Released in 2000, Origin was only sold to audiences in their hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas.

The Evanescence EP that came before Origin was short but sweet, and perhaps Evanescence's most memorable song, Imaginary, has been on all 3 of their proper albums.
Origin served as sort of a sample record for the childhood duo-turned-band known as Evanescence.
Origin is a beautiful album filled with a mixture of sorrowful and uplifting lyrics.

Numerous sections of the album display Origin's instrumentally superb musical prowess and are capable of holding together some excellent tracks, but to a noticeable degree the exploration and creativity found on Informis Infinitas Inhumanitas has been exchanged in favor of (unbelievably) more speed than on earlier releases.
The sound Origin has completely immersed themselves in has the potential to grow stagnant in the near future, and I’m sure there are some out there (myself not included) who feel this prophecy has already come to pass.
Origin is a good band, but I fear they'll never gain a more musically proficient sound in their current direction.

 Evanescence Discography & Band Information
Originally considered by many to be part of the Christian rock scene — and for a short time promoted in Christian stores — the band has distanced itself from such categorization, even though Fallen (2003), their first major-label release, had some religious themes.
Their first record, Origin (released in 2000), is relatively unknown, and previously released EPs in 1998 and 1999 are even less known, though highly sought after by collectors.
However, Lee herself does not consider the record to be an actual album; rather, she considers it merely a bundle of demo songs (some of which she says are not done properly) that was sent to record companies.

I'll be the first to tell you, I wasn't impressed with Origin's self-titled debut album, but whatever Origin have done between releases should be cloned by every band, as Origin has unleashed one of the most intense, technically extreme, musically complex and monstrous albums of the year.
The first thing that struck me in rapt attention was the everso clever and rare use of samples; somewhat of a contrived medium with the extreme metal genre (and Relapse bands are notoriously bad at overdoing samples).
If you tire of grindcore with cartoon covers (not that there is anything wrong with that), Origin are ready for you to enter their mind-numbing world of otherworldly musicianship.

Sure, they're not the greatest technical brutal death metal band (as criticisms show of their first album and demo material), but as someone that is looking for a straight foreword, unrelenting onslaught, they're definitely up my alley.
No, it is not because it was short; half of the songs on this album are repetitive and generic as all hell.
Considering the album clocks in at an unusually short 26 minutes, the repetitiveness might be overlookable but in the end, this is only recommendable to the staunchest Origin fan.

CLUAS Indie Album Reviews: Muse 'Origin of Symmetry'
Their debut album "Showbiz" did little to convince otherwise and now with their second album, the preposterously titled "Origin of Symmetry", they've only gone one worse by way of similarities.
And "Origin of Symmetry" proves this by the simple fact that it is a truly dreadful album.
The blueprint for "Origin of Symmetry" comes from one song: "Paranoid Android from "OK Computer" and, like a lazy architect copying another's house style and importing it into his own design for a housing estate, Muse stretch whatever originality there was in one song into 11 songs worth.

Michael Andrews sings with animated, malleable vocals that are enchanting, once you warm to them, and the band definitely excels on the sunnier tracks where his idiosyncratic voice has the chance to stretch out and find crevices in the music to explore.
The album owes a debt to Crowded House in terms of some of its melodic content and the buoyant acoustic textures -- there is a distinct absence of electric guitar, with Andrews' lively picking standing in, for the most part -- on songs like the jazzy "Ride" and "Who Would've Known," with its Eurythmics-like orchestration.
Promising in the way of chops, the Origin nevertheless still had some growing to do before their next album.

For some reason, Kansas’s Origin seems to be one of those bands the metal community has singled out for a rather undeserved level of internet harassment.
Like the center of a tornado, Origin’s articulacy is hidden by a swirling fury, but the vitriol contained within the album has some really rather devastating melodies.
As intense and breathtaking as the early stages of the album are, the albums penultimate track is quite simply put, one of the most intense 3 minutes I’ve ever had the pleasure to sit through.

Sin Origin Reviews at Lunar Hypnosis
Sin Origin writes unbelievably lengthy songs (shortest song is fourteen minutes) that are largely blistering fast fl metal compositions, but they also show influences from thrash, doom (somewhat), and normal heavy metal all interwoven perfectly, to form the perfect album.
Choosing favorites from this album is no easy task since the whole thing is godly, but seriously the sixteen minute piece ‘The Devil, with seven more evil’ is one of the sickest fl metal songs ever.
Sin Origin isn’t one of these clonners though, there’s only one Sin Origin, and their debut album ‘In the Presence of a Dread Magician’ is quite possibly the best American fl metal album ever.

Another reviewer describes the Origin sound as reminiscent to early Deicide, which is true in a sense, but Origin have taken the intensity and weird time signatures to another level making Deicide's music sound like pre-school gibberish and fret-board fumblings.

 OriginStory
Origin Story, guitarist/composer Richard Nelson’s second album on the Invisible label, brings together an outstanding quintet of Maine-based musicians to play his progressive, exploratory compositions.
The opener and title track, "Origin Story," was something of a breakthrough piece for me in its integration of structured and free improvisation with through-composed material.
I think this performance of it nicely captures the collaborative creative process at the heart of this group's efforts, as a web of possible starting points and their imagined resulting tales is spun in both individual and collective musical narratives.

Album Review ORIGIN-Informis Infinitas Inhumanitas :: Maelstrom :: Issue No 11
You see, when their debut self titled first came out, a lot of people were saying how they were just another boring deathgrind band, but the minute I heard that album I knew these guys were not a band that you would find in the "underground and unknown" category for long.
Hell, I still remember playing that CD everyday for two months just to hear the track "Sociocide." They had a brutally devastating sound that was matched by devastatingly brutal drumming.
The three vocal attack is still continued (I think) and overall this album is my pick for the best death/grind album of the year.

Joe Driscoll - Origin Myths : album review
Half CD / Half promo DVD, Origin Myths presents the opening gambit of a slick new kid on the block who reputedly combines the relative disciplines of hip-hop, folk, reggae and something called Rock.
The best news is that when Origin Myths is left to speak for itself, Driscoll's music easily transcends the suffocating sense of being overtly directed.
As Origin Myth itself details, Driscoll's rap roots rest in the Native Tongues era when just for a moment it looked like hip-hop's future lay in the hands of middle-class fls freestyling sharp rhymes about peace, love and leaving wallets in El Segundo.
