		Ornias music would be best described as harsh mid tempo old school fl metal with repetitive riffs, we normally don’t use more than 3-5 riffs in each song.

		Having the former Dark Funeral drummer Draugen in the band have probably done some to make the band more well known on the metal scene but the music itself is certainly capable of promoting the band just as good.
		Ornias is for sure one of the most talented people in the fl metal world and he has composed all music on this album.
		Having had more than ten years of experience Ornias have created one of the finest fl metal releases that have ever left Swedish ground.

		The drumming is pretty much faultless, but then that could be because Draugen is formerly of Dark Funeral.
		Ornias, who has been in this band since the first incantation of Svartsyn (Chalice), also shows his faultless guitar work and some good vocals.
		Ornias and Draugen do have the ability to make an album to remember, this however cant be their best work, it's long winded, far too repetitive and is in need of a touch more production.

		This is the first EP from Ornias, a Swedish band playing atmospheric fl metal.
		The guitar sound on this album is a bit soft, mixed at about the same volume as the drums.
		I just hope they ditch the annoying drum tone when they do.

		Svartsyn have (according to their bio) been in the Swedish fl metal scene for a while now, and I have heard of them, but never had the chance to listen to them.
		Currently consisting of Ornias (vocals/guitar/bass) and Draugen (drums), but this release was recorded back when the lineup had the addition of Kolgrim on bass.
		The vocals of Ornias sound great, but they are low in the mix sometimes.

		For a pretty good reason too, because not only they hope that the sales for this release will rise a little bit, but also will this band release a follow up for “Destruction Of Man” later this year.
		There are only two members in this band, Ornias (vocals, guitar and bass) and ex-Dark Funeral drummer Draugen.
		The band was formed in 1993 and since then had released several demos, a split CD with Arckanum (2003), and 3 full releases of them own.

		This all seems to stem from a pseudepigraphic work known as "Testament of Solomon", which is supposed to have been written by King Solomon but which internal evidence shows was written by a Christian sometime between the 1st and 3rd centuries CE.
		The demon was stealing half the boy's pay and sucking out the boy's vitality through the his thumb (make of that what you will).
		Solomon lends the ring to the young boy who uses it to stamp or brand Ornias and thus bring him under control.

		The tale contains a list of demons including Asmodeus and Ornias.

		Svartsyn originally started in 1991 under the moniker of Chalice, and in 1996 they released their first official full length album, called “The True Legend”, through Folter Records.
		In 1998, Ornias (v, g), Draugen (d) and Kolgrim (b) recorded the album “Bloodline”, which was only released on vinyl before, through End All Life Productions.
		The label on which Svartsyn are signed now, Sound Riot Records from Germany, re-releases this vinyl-only album on CD.

	MAXIMUM METAL
		The Svartsyn duo consists of mastermind Ornias (vocals, guitars, bass), former Dark Funeral drummer Draugen.
		The only thing that may be characteristic of a “newer” sound is the use of atmospheric keyboard effects in a few places, like during the intro to “Archdemon of Binah” and at the end of “Towards Change.” But in reality, even these fragments sound very primitive and unrefined.
		That being said, they do complement and contrast the usual harsh banter coming from Ornias’ mouth and guitar quite nicely.

		The production is quite good for a fl metal CD and it's something that I appreciate even if stalwart fans of the genre will take issue with.
		Svartsyn is Ornias on vocals, guitars, and bass, Kolgrim on keyboards, and Draugen (ex-Dark Funeral) on drums.
		Not a classic but it will rock your world.

		The major difference I noticed on this work is that the bass guitar stands out a wicked lot.
		The guitar work wasn’t as interesting in my opinion as “Destruction of Man.” I hope Ornias pulls it together and tops that album because Svartsyn has been getting consistently better in every release.
		It would be a shame to see them plateau so soon.
