ORONO - One night last September, a local man refused to leave the parking lot at Ushuaia's, a local bar, and kept walking back onto the property, taunting the two Orono police officers on patrol.
Orono police said it was good that Shorette called them as the local officers had to be elsewhere and otherwise might have missed the erratic driver who they said was intoxicated.
Orono police Sgt. Scott Wilcox acknowledged that as much as they would like to be and as much as residents might like it, police officers can't be everywhere at once, so that's why they welcome the assistance.
