		Orpheus is not your father’s game of Wraith, the ill-fated title from White Wolf that covered much of the same ground as this one.

		The key to being one of the great rpgs is twofold: 1) the rpg has to have a great setting, and 2) the rpg has to lend itself to some great gamemastering.
		Orpheus is a full game line, setting, and epic adventure wrapped up in a tidy 6-book set (the core book and five supplements).
		The place where Orpheus trips up as a horror rpg is in the non-horror elements that creep in to most of the supplements.

		It deals with working for a company called Orpheus who have discovered that ghosts exist and have even developed a way for people to "project" their conciousness from their bodies, becoming ghosts for a limited amount of time.
		Orpheus is foremost a for profit company and they outsource the services of their employed projectors for a variety of jobs, from traditional private eye stuff and haunting removal to corporate espionage and even darker missions that are rumored about the office.
		One other thing is that it is a limited run series, which means theres the corebook which has all the base details for running orpheus, then five supplements that each advance the metaplot in drastic ways along with adding some extra crunch.

		That corporation is the Orpheus Group, which started out as a cryogenics firm but later developed the technology needed to produce "projectors", people who can send their souls outside of their body and interact with ghosts.
		This goes well with the emphasis, in Orpheus, on relatively normal people facing their own mortality as part of a daily job -- and is therefore a good thing, a quiet way to encourage the sort of stories the author is aiming at, system and setting working in lockstep.

	Orpheus by White Wolf - A Game Monkeys Review!
		Told as part of a limited 6 book series, Orpheus is a company with a questionable past to say the least and operations that aren't always on the up-and-up.
		Not nearly as original as much of their properties in the past and borrowing muchly from them, Orpheus is definitely geared towards new players or old ones who don't mind rehashing old turf in a somewhat less spectacular and deep way.
		I say "for the most part" because unfortunately a little too much of what is presented in Orpheus is done as either a newspaper clipping or as some random text on a dark background.

		Rpg combat doesn't seem to be suited to a first person perspective, to be honest.
		Well it depends...there are lots of first person rpg's that are subscription...A tale in the Desert, The Everquests, Lineage 2:Bloodpledge, Dark Age of Camelot, Horizons....these all have the option of first or third person views.
