The analysis of radiation risks and of the dose response relationship of thyroid cancer incidence focuses on the population of the Oryol oblast represented by residents of 3006 settlements.
Considering that the public health care level is better in Oryol than in other settlements and this may influence the registration level, the analysis of radiation risks was carried out both for the whole population of the oblast (separating out children and adolescents) and with the deduction of the population of Oryol.
Excluding Oryol from the study, the distribution of cases is shifting towards younger ages, which may be an indication of the exposure factor, however, to a lesser extent than in those exposed as children and adolescents living in the Bryansk oblast (Fig.
