Osaka City University (大阪市立大学 Ōsaka Shiritsu Daigaku, in southern Osaka sometimes abbreviated to 市大 Ichidai or Shidai) is one of the municipal universities in Japan.
Osaka City was defeated in a battle to draw the Second National Commercial College (the winner was Kobe City), so the city authorities decided to establish a municipal commercial college without any aid from the national budget.
In September 1950, Osaka City was attacked by Typhoon Jane and the city budget was heavily injured.

He then was named Emeritus Professor of Osaka City University and continued to serve as a neurosurgeon.

This study was carried out on Shinoda-yama (34ø29'N, 135ø28E), 15 km south of Osaka City, Japan, on a flat terrace of about 50 ha including some shallow valleys.
The study was conducted as an exercise for the students of a biological course at Osaka City University during late May or early June from 1978 to 1985, 1981 excepted.

 Role of Vitamin K2 in the Development of Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Women With Viral Cirrhosis of the Liver
Design, Setting, and Participants: Forty women diagnosed as having viral liver cirrhosis were admitted to a university hospital between 1996 and 1998 and were randomly assigned to the treatment or control group.
When the results of abdominal dynamic computed tomography and abdominal ultrasonography suggested the presence of hepatocellular carcinoma, abdominal angiography or needle biopsy was performed to confirm the diagnosis.
This trial was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and was approved by the ethics committee at the Osaka City University Medical School.

Development and management of coastal environment in the Osaka bay area will be discussed considering global and regional environmental problems.
For taking benefits and bounty of the sea into the city planning process, the following three propositions are needed; (1) recovery of biodiversity of Osaka Bay, (2) redevelopment of coastal environment for harmonious coexistence between nature and people, (3) urban design focusing on environmentally sound material cycle and natural energy utilization.
A model plan for a typical coastal city consisting of the residential area (90ha, 10,000 inhibited population), the industrial zone Eco-messe (30ha), and the constructed coastal zone Nature village (20ha) will be presented.
