Osoyoos (IPA: [ɔ sjuːs]) is a small town in the Okanagan Valley on British Columbia's southern border with Washington state.
In the summertime, the Okanagan Valley is the hottest area in Canada, and Osoyoos often reaches the highest temperature of any location in Canada.
The name Osoyoos means "narrowing of the waters" in the local First Nations language.

Osoyoos is just over the border from the USA, very roughly halfway across British Columbia, at the junction of Highway 3 which runs east-west and Highway 97 which runs north-south.
Osoyoos is on the Okanagan River, but probably not normally described as being in the Okanagan Valley in the same sense as Penticton, Kelowna and Vernon, where the river widens to form a series of lakes.
We have not investigated restaurants or motels in Osoyoos but on passing through it seemed to have a good selection of both.

Osoyoos is just over the border from the USA, very roughly halfway in east-west terms across British Columbia, at the junction of Highway 3 which runs east-west and Highway 97 which runs north-south.
Osoyoos is on the Okanagan River, but it is probably not normally described as being in the Okanagan Valley in the same sense as Penticton, Kelowna and Vernon, where the river widens to form a number of large lakes.
It crosses the river, which is wide enough at this point to be called Osoyoos lake, by means of a narrow causeway which was created naturally, I think.

The club recently completed a sponsored project to manufacture a fleet of sailing dingy’s for use by the members and participants in the sailing school operated by the club as it's contribution to the community of Osoyoos.
A varied social program is a staple in any sailing club and ours is no exception with a club house providing recreational space for meetings, social functions and workshops.
