 | | The 5th Rangers accomplished a various amount of missions throughout their time in WW2: they were used to guard prisoners, they became known as the fort busters because they took several forts, they also lead attacks against towns throughout France, they joined together with the Pattons' 3rd Army and fought in several battles with them. |
 | | On June 6th, 1944 (D-Day), the soldiers of the 2nd and 5th, had their baptism of fire; D, E and F, companies of the 2nd Rangers were to climb and take Point Du Hoc; A, B, and C, Companies were to land on Omaha Beach along with the 5th Ranger Battalion. |
