		The whole number of vessels employed on the lakes during the navigation of 1863 may be classified as follows: Side-wheel steamers 135; propellers and tugs 258; barks 195; brigs 80; schooners 1,040; sloops and barges 62, total 1,770.
		They kept their course until near each other, when the Pewabic put her helm aport, and had just commenced to swing when she was struck in the vicinity of the pilot house by the Meteor, cutting her down to the water’s edge.
		Other movements on the lakes were made about this time, but as the invasion was soon quelled and put an end to, quiet was very speedily restored.

	155th New York Volunteer Infantry Reenactment Regiment Home Page
		The regiment fought under both the flag of the United States, and a green, regimental color with Irish and New York state symbols.
		The 155th's first fight was in January 1863 in Virginia, and over the next two and a half years, the regiment actively campaigned in the East.
		They also visit schools and local history societies making educational presentations, and are available for other similar activities as well.
