Othniel Ben Kenaz (Hebrew עָתְנִיאֵל בֶּן קְנַז "lion of God", Standard Hebrew ʻOtniʼel Ben Qənaz, Tiberian Hebrew ʻOṯnîʼēl Ben Qənaz) is the first of the Judges.
Some thirty years after the death of Joshua, the Israelites fell under the subjection of Chushan-rishathaim, the king of Mesopotamia.
He oppressed them for a full eight years, when they "cried" unto God, Othniel was raised up to be their deliverer.

The first thing I realized in reading the coverage of Othniel Askew is that I know this man. No, I don't believe I ever met him in person, but I know him nonetheless.
In the fl gay community, we call these people "crafty." They steal credit card numbers, make up false identities, and seem to live fabulously with no apparent source of income.
If Othniel Askew was one of the "crafty kids," then it's not altogether surprising that he was able to fool Councilman Davis and some others into trusting him.
