An evening with Hans Joachim Otto, MdB
This is what 64 Business Club members and guests experienced when Hans-Joachim Otto, MdB, sitting member of parliament for Frankfurt-am-Main and FDP Media and Culture political spokesperson shared his thoughts on the subject as to whether or not Germany was still a competitive player on the broad international economic stage.
Critical questions were also posed to Herr Otto on issues such as the state of the German school system, financial support and tax relief for small to medium-sized enterprises, the FDP's Project 18 and state subsidies for Germany's coal mining industry.
Herr Otto concluded that it was very important for political representatives to engage in regular exchanges such as these with representatives of the ex-pat business community as many valuable lessons were there to be learnt and applied in order to ensure that Germany remained both a leading and competitive economic force.
