 Things to see in Oulu
Built in 1590, the castle of Oulu was destroyed by lightning in 1793.
There is an exhibition on the history of the castle on the site, and the observation tower built in 1875 for teaching astronomy now serves as a summertime cafe.
Oulu Cathedral was 225 years old in December 2002.

His exhibition in Oulu City Art Museum is focused on the artist’s production from the 1990’s, but the earliest works are from the beginning of the 1980’s.
Designing the guest room of Oulu Provincial State Office was an exceptional project: in addition to the collage work of art placed on the wall of the guest room, Törmänen composed the total visual outlook of the interior with the furniture.
