  The Day Out of Time
The Thirteen Moon Calendar, prophetically prescribed for this time on behalf of the biosphere, was originally known by the Maya as the Tun Uc, the "moon count" or "count of seven." The correlation date on the Gregorian Calendar, July 26, is also derived from the prophetic tradition of the Chilam Balam or Jaguar Priests.
The Law of Time supplies the answer raised by Vernadsky concerning the nature of time in the biosphere and the inadequacy of the geometry and measurements of third-dimensional space to describe the actual nature of time.
For this purpose we are now in the process of establishing the Foundation for the Law of Time, a non-profit public interest educational organization to be registered in the state of Oregon, for the promotion of the Calendar Change and the new science of time.

Out Of Time became the band's first number one album despite the fact that they did not have an extensive tour to support it.
Out Of Time has the curious distinction of being the number one album on Billboard's first Sound Scan chart (which more accurately reflects sales) and the only album to hit number one pre and post Sound Scan eras.
REM hooked listeners into 'Out of Time' with "Losing My Religion" and you either bought the album because you wanted to hear that song in particular or you were hoping all the songs were similar to it if you hadn't heard it before.

The Music Box: R.E.M. - Out of Time - DVD-Audio (Album Review)
During the 2 ½ years that preceded the release of Out of Time, R.E.M. spent an exhausting 10 months on the road, took a lengthy sabbatical, and continued to develop the concepts and ideas that it had initiated on Green, its major label debut.
Even so, Out of Time wasn’t truly a bold new beginning for R.E.M.; instead musically speaking, it highlighted a broadening of the collective’s palette — the Doors-ian poetry of Belong and the Neil Young-inspired haze of Country Feedback, for example — as well as a refinement of its previous endeavors.
Although the band was nearly swallowed by its success, it wisely opted not to tour in support of the outing, thereby allowing its full-fledged maturation to come to fruition on its subsequent masterpiece Automatic for the People.

 DVD-Audio Review: R.E.M. - ‘Out of Time’
Perhaps the time has come to revisit the album in its new remaster for DVD-Audio by Warner Brothers, and be swept away again by a burst of invention which changed the face of mainstream pop and opened the doors to the tidal wave of angst which was about to sweep rock in the 1990’s.
Altogether, the song has a bit of an odd flavor, like an experimental dish that is pretty good, even if it isn’t likely to become a favorite, but it sets the tone aptly for the wildly creative album to come.
Though some of these songs have been overexposed and taken out of context over the years, their combined impact is powerful and masterful, with oblique storytelling gradually replaced by stark openness.

RUNNING OUT OF TIME reviewed by Jonathan Marshall
The amazing thing about Out of Time however is that even though this conventional pattern drives the actual narrative, it has almost nothing to do with the mood and ambience.
Out of Time is rather one of the latest in what is becoming a sub-genre of films depicting HK as a city of dreams, of isolated individuals who through randomly brushing against each other generate magic and romance (Beast Cops is another, over the top example).
The main song from the score moreover employs an almost bagpipe-like, mystic drone to impart a sense of spirituality and divine destiny.

The Times’ article (“Bank Data Is Sifted by U.S. in Secret to Block Terror”), which was published Friday, was quickly picked up by all of the other usual media suspects—as well as the so-called primary terrorist news service Al Jazeera.
In fact, the Times seems to have viewed it as a “duty” to inform said terrorists of the program’s danger to their organizations.
The Times, however, refused and used the old, weary and catch-me-if-you-can excuse that it was “in the public interest”.

Nude as the News: R.E.M.: Out Of Time
One could hardly call such latter-day R.E.M. albums like Out Of Time and Automatic For The People (each quadruple platinum) "alternatives," as would be the case with bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam, dubbed with similar tags in the early '90s even as they topped the Billboard charts.
The three-year break between records gave the songs, some of which were written as early as the 1989 Green tour, the chance to evolve and then develop in the studio.
