Outswinger - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An outswinger is bowled by holding the cricket ball with the seam vertical and the first two fingers running along either side of the seam.
Also, outswingers often mean the batsman has to swing his bat away from his body, so an inside edge can ricochet on to the wicket and get him out bowled.
A left-handed batsman has less difficulty facing outswingers, because the ball moves in towards his body (It is a wide if the outswinger doesn't swing into the a left handed batsmen), meaning the batsman's legs are usually in the path of the ball if it misses the bat or takes an edge.

Inswinger - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Inswingers are not considered to be as difficult for a right-handed batsman to play as an outswinger.
This is because the ball moves in towards his body, meaning that his body is often behind the line of the ball, and any miscalculated shot that is hit by the edge of the bat may be intercepted by his body rather than flying to a fielder for a catch.
A particularly effective delivery is the inswinging yorker, which can cause a batsman to attempt to pull his feet out of the line of the ball, leaving him vulnerable to being bowled, or out lbw if he is too slow.

This allowed a lot of ordinary batsmen to come forward and smother his swing and that is why, in later years, when he did not get as much movement as he did with the outswinger in those early years, he found it difficult to get his wickets.
His outswinger then, was as the celebrated Indian all-rounder Bapu Nadkarni would say "a banana outswinger".
The outswinger is easy to tap away for runs, in lim- ited overs cricket, for there are hardly any slip fielders for the edge, while the inswinger, if bowled well, cramps the batsman and tucks him up.

What happens is simple; you find yourself irresistibly drawn by a terrible urge to play this outswinger but can manage only to edge it into the waiting hands of the slip cordon.
When one is in love, one is seized with this urge to hold her hands, put a flower in her hair or even read out a poem to her.
It shall require a tremendous effort of will to be able to overcome this urge each and every time you play an outswinger and even if you succeed and decide against playing it, the outswinging ball can yet take a faint touch of your unresponsive, passive bat and cause your downfall.

So as stated above, the ball moves in the direction of the shine, irrespective of whether the bowler is gripping the ball for an outswinger or an inswinger.
Even a half volley with this kind of ball may not be as easy as it appears for the batsman, with a gate opening between bat and pad (the batsman attempting a cover drive) as he tends to play for the outswinger.
Outside offstump line may only result in the batsman being beaten, so the more effective line would be on offstump, the length should be around the good length - forcing the batsman to play a forward defensive shot.

But if a batsman is showing the tendency to play to leg you should aim at his leg and middle stumps so that he may be induced to hit across the line of the outswinger.

But, although OUTSWINGER sprinted clear approaching the distance, looking all over a winner at this stage, NO TEAR had other ideas.

Normal swing is achieved by maintaining laminar boundary layer air-flow on the shiny side whilst creating turbulent flow on the seam side.
These deliveries, particularly the outswinger, are the bread and butter of opening bowlers who get to use the ball while it is still new.
Although the seam is oriented in the same way as for an outswinger and the action is the same, the rough side of the ball is to the fore, and the ball moves in to the batsman like an inswinger.
