Animation Nation Bulletin Board: Why do Disney's characters overact ???
As for overacting, animation has to overact more in a way relevant to live action film-making of the thirties and forties or even more towards the silent era.
I don't think Dreamworks has done much of a better job with the acting of their characters either--there seemed to be an attempt to compensate for the lack of dialogue in Spirit by overexaggerating the pantomime.
I also think Milt Kahl was often guilty of overacting, but he often had the excuse of animating a deranged villain where overacting becomes part of their personality.

When one of the six extraocular muscles that provides motility to the eye is overacting (relatively too strong), it may cause the eye to turn in, turn out, or rotate too high or too low.
In the case of an overacting muscle, it may be weakened by a muscle recession procedure.
In the case of a weakened muscle, the antagonist to that muscle (an opposing muscle) may be weakened by a recession procedure.

OVERACTING OF THE WEEK: Since masturbation was a theme this week, I imagine a lot of folks will be coming all over themselves in praise of Ryan's performance this week, but I can't say I was impressed.
Part of the problem is that if you watch Picardo's performance in the teaser, as the Doctor speechifies about the creation of life, it's clear he is overacting, apparently in preparation for Ryan's overacting in imitation of him.

What i have started to notice with Sarah's character is that whenever she is given a big and important speaking role, she seems to overact quite a bit.
This overacting can make the episode go down in quality quite alot.
Beside Sarahs overacting this episode was GREAT, the Janitor was able to handle his role superbly, and his narration was better.

Opus // Movie Reviews // Versus
I suppose I could spend most of this review raving on and on about "Versus"' style, its insane action sequences, ultra-sweet overacting, and some of the best gore this side of "Evil Dead II".
And while all of those definitely contributed to my enjoyment of this movie, I'd have to say my favorite moment of the movie occurred when my friends who hate kung fu movies insisted I show it to their friends.
And for good measure, it throws in plenty of overacting (the knife-loving gangleader is a collective fave) and a sly wink or two (the fact that everyone keeps pulling bigger and bigger guns out of their pants), as if to constantly remind the audience that they should just sit back and enjoy the film.

His overacting is what really got on my nerves about 15 minutes into this movie, but the friends I went with said that that added to the comedy.
Sure Blue Streak is predictable and loaded with overacting and bad acting, but in the end, what you're left with is a comedy/action flick which really does entertain.

JoBlo reviews the movie "Dungeons and Dragons"
For anyone who never really understood what "overacting" means, please see this movie and behold the performance set forth by Jeremy Irons as one of the best examples of overacting that you're ever going to see on film.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this movie to all kids who love fantasy movies, anyone with a proclivity to blue lipstick, lovers of cheesy material overacted by actors loving it, and to anyone who is honestly intrigued by this film's trailer.
First off, as many have said, Jeremy Irons overacts his butt off in this thing, and after about one minute's worth of it, you just want to kill him, or fire him, ban him from Hollywood forever or something.

Crosswalk.com - "Jeepers 2": Incompetent Rather Than Creepy
Successful horror films don’t need to make sense; they work at a visceral level beyond (or below) logic, provoking an emotional response with nightmare images that bear little connection to rational fear.
For its first 10 minutes, “Jeepers Creepers 2” works effectively on that basis, but quickly stalls (along with the school bus that provides the main focus of the film) in an unsavory swamp of overacting, silly subplots and unredeemed tedium.
The original “Jeepers Creepers,” a modest commercial success in 2001, would hardly qualify as a fright film classic but it delivered enough moments of skillful shock and grotesque gore to leave audiences appropriately discomfited.
