Oxfam has suspended work on a series of tsunami relief projects in a district of the Indonesian province of Aceh and sent in internal auditors after discovering tens of thousands of dollars in “financial irregularities”, the charity said on Wednesday.
Oxfam on Wednesday refused to detail the alleged financial irregularities, which it said “are in the region of tens of thousands of dollars”.
Oxfam will use every means at its disposal to recover any money found to be missing,” the spokesman said.
