The PC Engine had a cleaner video output stage than the MD though which gives the graphics a nice crisp image.
Many people dislike the size, especially compared to the PC Engine, but I think the TG-16 had its own certain style, one that really came into its own when the AV booster was attached.
While technically true PC Engines were hacked for their grey-market release in Europe, there was a PAL model TurboGrafx that output only PAL composite video and was an official release from NEC, not a hack.

I only know about PC Engine game pricing...and well...Galaga '88 was dirt cheap for me. www.japangamestock.com had it for less than 10 bucks...shipping is a pain though.
I love PC Engine a ton...so I'd just say get one of those...but if you want to know some pros and cons of Turbo vs PC Engine...just ask.
If you don't mind, I may be picking your brain a bit as I like a lot of PC Engine games but am confused as to what to get.

Halo was a port hence the crap performance also it was one of the first games to use PS 2.0 (i think) and that caused alot of problems.
you see HALO was originally slated for the the pc and to be one of the few at the time to include vehicules this was in 2000 around.

Battle Engine Aquila was a so-so game on the consoles, and now Lost Toys has ported it over so it can become a so-so title for the PC.
Engine sounds in jet mode are pretty quiet.
Toss in the fact that the limited multiplayer hardly seems appropriate for PC gamers (unless they enjoy crowding around the same monitor) and things start to look worse and worse for the Aquila.
