PC100 SDRAM   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-15)
PC100 SDRAM is synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) that states that it meets the PC100 specification from Intel®.
It's reported that PC100 SDRAM will improve performance by 10-15% in an Intel® Socket 7 system (but not in a Pentium® II because its L2 cache speed runs at only half of processor speed).
The Intel® PC100 compliance specifications are ensuring robust Memory operation from suppliers that meet these specifications and this is a great benefit to both the industry and the end users.

Priced aggressively in volume purchases, the PC100 can increase battery operating life while reducing battery size in automatic meter readers, automotive applications, fl box data recorders for aviation (commercial and military), backup power for UPS applications, or any other product requiring pulsed power, high cycle reliability, and/or low maintenance.
Measuring 34 x 55 x 17mm, the PC100 caches approximately 300 Joules of energy at a nominal 2.5 volts for high-powered discharges ranging from fractions of a second to one minute.
In addition, the PC100 can provide extended back-up power availability, allowing critical information and functions to remain available during dips, sags, and outages in the main power supply or battery charge.

Due to the complexity and lack of understanding of the PC100 and PC133 requirements, some vendors are selling memory labeled as PC100 or PC133 that does not meet Intel's specifications.
Manufacturing SDRAM chips and modules, which are not fully compliant with the documented PC100 and PC133 specifications, severely compromises the quality and reliability of the PC system.
Since consumers are unable to verify PC100 compliance, they are well advised to purchase 125MHz SDRAM modules from a large, reputable vendor who understands the subtleties of the specifications and produces product meeting the PC100 module specification.
