	Applying HSTL Signals to PECL Input Devices - Maxim/Dallas
		PECL and HSTL are two of the high-speed interface standards in common use.
		PECL (positive supply referred ECL) is an older standard than HSTL and was developed as a higher speed alternative to the TTL logic standards.
		The PECL input specification parameters that determine a device's suitability to receive HSTL are the differential input voltage (VID), the differential input low voltage (VILD) and the differential input high voltage (VIHD).

	Confusions about PEAR 1.4.0 and PECL - Lot 49: Greg Beaver's blog
		Dependencies on pecl packages are logically impossible with package.xml 1.0, because there is no place in the dependency format that allows one to link a package and an extension.
		This is a bit of magic because we've had problems with installing extensions that are loaded in php.ini, as the old one can't be deleted.
