| | PFL Manual |
 | | PFL is a functional database programming language and environment designed and developed by Alex Poulovassilis, Carol Small, Pete Newson, Swarup Reddi and David Sutton at Birkbeck College, University of London, and Simon Courtenage at University of Westminster. |
 | | You start a PFL session, and at the PFL prompt, issue PFL commands (for example, to load files) or execute expressions written in the PFL language (for example, to add two numbers together). |
 | | Typically, you would write PFL programs in an editor, such as emacs or vi, save them in a file with a.env file extension, and then load this file into PFL using the "_load" command. |
