Plokta is one of those fanzines published by a large editorial collective that can come to resemble a focal point in itself, and over a decade of publication, they have produced a dizzying wealth of content and design.
Plokta presents a sly chronicle of fannish life, in which great works and events in the world of speculative fiction are an occasion for a costume party or at least an amusing pastiche.
Many fanzines end up receiving awards when the end of their run is clearly in sight, and the readers who have been entertained by them feel a need to show their gratitude for the effort of publishing.
