Pong consoles with the actuall Atari label did not actually enter the market until 1976.

The game Pong was the world's first video game in the early 70's, this is a modern version of it, made with a little bit less hardware than the original version.
In the pong game each line is treated different if there is a ball on it or not.
In pong, the two images are identical, so the game is not using the full y-resolution possible, but it doesn't matter because it is way better than the x-resolution anyway, making the x-resolution the biggest problem.

The fourth video game was PONG, released in the winter of 1972 by Atari, Nolan Bushnell's new company.
In the first video game lawsuit, Nolan Bushnell admitted to witnessing Magnavox's Odyssey in 1972 and so historians soon realized that Atari's PONG was no more than strategic copyright infringements against Magnavox.
