	United States of America Cricket Association
		Officials from the United States of America Cricket Association (USACA) and the New York City Department of Education - Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL) met Friday, May 5, 2006 to discuss an implementation plan for cricket in the New York City “Big Apple Games” schools program this summer.
		The Big Apple Games is a summer recreational program designed as an extension of the PSAL to accommodate children from grades 5 through 12 (Middle to High Schools), which includes students with special needs.

	‘Heads Up!’ Will Refurbish H.S. Football Helmets
		Program, the New York Jets will donate a grant of $100,000 to the PSAL for helmet reconditioning, as well as for new football programs at Franklin K. Lane, Alfred E. Smith, Automotive, and Wadleigh Arts H. Today’s grant marks the latest partnership between the DOE and the Jets, who began their collaboration in 2001.
		In addition to providing funding, the Jets’ support for the PSAL has included hosting PSAL high school football coaches at team practices, creating “Captain’s Day” for PSAL football team captains to spend a day at training camp, and honoring PSAL football champions at a selected home game during the NFL season.
		Eighty-five teams, including 43 varsity teams, are participating in the PSAL football program, with more than 2,700 student athletes playing on the teams.
