Indeed it was Newberry who got the action underway when he hit the PSNI post only 5 minutes into the game however for the rest of the half PSNI were easily the better team.
Then the game started to become a touch scrappy with the referee deciding to force the PSNI to substitute one of their men and then rather oddly punished Ards youngster Ryan Newberry with a five minute sin bin.
Ryan Newberry tried another long range effort on goal which the PSNI keeper failed to handle and little left back Kirk Rutherford nipped in to make it 3-2, knocking the ball into the net while the keeper lay on the ground.

Ulster Unionist Lord Laird of Artigarvan, with support from Protestant applicants to the PSNI who have been rejected because of their religion, is seeking financial help to oppose the law in the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg.
The insidious 50-50 policy of recruitment of officers to the PSNI, introduced as part of the deeply flawed Patten Report recommendations arising from the Belfast Agreement, is so blatantly unjust as to make many Protestants and unionists deeply resentful that Her Majesty's Government is so damning and dismissive of their interests.
The News Letter actively backs a public campaign to end the 50-50 PSNI recruitment policy and we do believe it may be necessary to fund a challenge in the European courts to force the Government's hand on what is an appaling injustice committed against the majority community in Northern Ireland.

An area of concern centred on the fact that the new standards took no cognisance of handling firearms safely since this is not a requirement for officers in England and Wales.
PSNI are presently awaiting the findings of this research, which will be considered in association with the standards in England and Wales.

This meeting afforded the 'Rest in East' campaign the opportunity to inform the officials present of the reason behind the group's formation and of it's objectives.
The representatives of Glentoran Football Club (including Chief Executive Tom Dick and Chairman Stafford Reynolds) highlighted their desire to exhaust all options available to Glentoran F.C. with regards to the ground move, and re-inforced the financial pressures the Club operates under on a day to day basis.
Very encouraging to see that Glentoran FC are now releasing progress updates on the Official site.

Alot of PSNI officers outside the ground will not go down to well with the locals believe me. Its best that they stayed away IMO and let the Derry stewards escort youse into the ground, thats what i would do really.
Supports:Derry City FC Yes they have been in the Bogside but the deal for years between the club and the Police was taht they are to stay away when ever there is a match on but i think they are relaxed on that deal now.

Since the issue was first aired on TV I have been talking to a few contacts and indeed your comments may be right.
I and many others will be waiting on the PSNI to come out and clear up this situation and also issue a VERY PUBLIC apology.
It was also interesting to read that of the original 50 football, rugby, and gaelic clubs that were being investigated only 7 football clubs were pursued.

Eamon Clarke replaced ‘Larkie’ after the restart and despite the lack of enterprise by the PSNI side Moyola Park failed to dominate the play during the second period.
With the final kick of the game PSNI narrowly failed to score a consolation goal.

The report’s authors, Keir Starmer QC and Jane Gordon, said that the PSNI "has done more than any police service in the UK to achieve human rights compliance and in many respects we have been very impressed with the work the PSNI has undertaken in the human rights field".
In providing an assessment of progress made by the PSNI, the Board’s Advisors said: “Whilst a high numbers of officers across all ranks and with varying lengths of service demonstrate a good base level knowledge of human rights, the PSNI must ensure that officers maintain, develop and apply that knowledge in their work.

The PSNI will not permit any other means of admission to the ground other than by the methods outlined here, and much as the Management Committee would wish otherwise, it has been made very clear to us that these conditions must be strictly adhered to.
The PSNI have insisted that bus drivers MUST remain with their vehicles at all times, therefore a driver should not expect to attend the game.
Had we not been prepared to comply with PSNI and Health & Safety requirements, there was the possibility that the playing of the game in public could have been in doubt.

On Thursday evening (6th) North Down Ladies were invited along to the Dub, and to the NIWFA League Council meeting when the club were issued with a full list of their competitive 2006 fixtures.
Most local interest of all though, will be against the Newtownards based ‘rivals’ Ards Raiders - from neighbouring Londonderry Park - this team certainly could figure in the top three with their pedigree and will be the benchmark the Bangor side will be looking to emulate within a couple of seasons.
Of the others - Knockbreda and PSNI are an unknown packages, both embarking on their first competitive season in the NIWFA, which kicks off on Wednesday, 26th April.

When last year’s UVF-LVF feud resulted in similar scenes of mob rule in east Belfast, the PSNI claimed that nothing could be done because no complaints had been received from the public.
This was a despicable attempt to pass responsibility for its own job on to the very communities it is supposed to be protecting.
The Alexandra Bar raid demonstrated that the PSNI is perfectly capable of rounding up an entire UDA faction without sparking off a bloodbath.
