Paddy Ryan, known as the Trojan Giant was born in Thurles, Tipperary, Ireland on March 14, 1851, but lived in Troy, West Troy, and Green Island.
Paddy lost it two years later, on February 7th, fighting John L. Sullivan, the Boston Strong Boy (bare knuckled and under London Prize Ring rules) in nine rounds.
Ryan died on December 14, 1900, in a rented house on Albany Avenue, Green Island and was buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in that village.

 Paddy Ryan began his wrestling career in the 1950's, originally billed as Bud Freeman.
When they were brought to the matches in their wheelchairs, he would often come out before his matches to make sure they got the autographs and pictures they wanted.
  Ryan retired from the ring in 1982, and passed away on December 28, 1989 in his home in Port Moody, BC from an apparent stroke which lead to a massive heart attack.

 The Snorkeller's Guide to the Coral Reef: From the Red Sea to the Pacific Ocean by Paddy Ryan, Search Cheap Books, ...
It doesn't seem like anyone has done a comprehensive reference for this area comparable to Humann's works on the Caribbean.
However, I did find Paddy Ryan's fine volume in the lending library at the resort where I was staying.
To my surprise, I find it to be much more than the typical, superficial "snorkeler's guide." It's a small but beautifully produced volume with excellent photography and a well-written text.
