Padshah Khan is reported to have an army of 6,000 men deployed across a vast territory in the eastern Paktia province and is threatening to destabilise several key southeastern provinces after being denied the post of a Governor of the province.
If Padshah Khan does not mend his ways, Karzai will have to take recourse to military action against him and if this happens, political observers say this will be the first bloody military confrontation between the Government and the warlord since he assumed power.
