Paganitzu (Aztec for "Temple of the Gods.") is a tile-based, CGA/EGA computer game created by Keith Schuler and published by FormGen in October 1991.
The protagonist and player character of Paganitzu is Alabama "Al" Smith, an explorer comparable to Indiana Jones, working his way through an ancient Aztec pyramid.
The story is split into three sections, the first of which is shareware: "Romancing the Rose", "The Silver Dagger", "Jewel of the Yucatan".
The problem that you are having with your joystick in Paganitzu can be caused by one of two things.
When Paganitzu was first created, the fastest computers only ran at about 12Mhz, and the speed at which the game cards operated at remained a constant speed.
Due to the age of Paganitzu, Apogee will not be updating the game to support joysticks on 386+ machines.
Paganitzu is an EGA/VGA game, but a special CGA mode is also provided for those without the better graphics card.
