Page One was organized on March 24, 1977, at the Christ Episcopal Church Parish House, in Luray, Virginia, and is a cooperative ministry of many of the Christian Churches of Page County, Virginia.
The purpose of Page One is to furnish the member churches with a medium for cooperation in meeting human needs in Page County, through a variety of charitable and educational programs.
Page One is funded by its thrift shop sales, contributions from churches and church groups, civic organizations and individuals and relies on participating churches and other organizations to provide funds, food and used clothing on a regular basis.

Page County was formed in 1831 from portions of Shenandoah and Rockingham counties and named for John Page, revolutionary patriot, congressman, and governor of Virginia from 1802 to 1805.
The Page Valley remained among the most remote regions of the Shenandoah Valley, and the formation of the new county in 1831 was perhaps recognition of its slowly-developing economy and connection with the ironworks at Harpers Ferry.
The publication is printed from one of two known copies of the Land Tax records for Page County, Virginia for the years 1858 and 1859 (The other is the auditor's copy in the State Archives).
