	Page McConnell - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Page Samuel McConnell (born May 17, 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a pianist/organist/keyboardist most noted for his work with the legendary rock band Phish.
		McConnell spent his senior year of high school at Lawrence Academy at Groton, in Groton, Massachusetts, and then attended Southern Methodist University from Fall 1982 to Spring 1984 were he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order.
		Page McConnell plays a Hammond B3 with a Leslie 122 speaker, a Fender Rhodes, a Yamaha C7 "baby grand" (7'6") piano, a Hohner D6 Clavinet, a Moog Source, and a Yamaha CS50 polyphonic synthesizer.

	Vida Blue
		It was during the Goddard Springfest of 1985 that Page was introduced to Phish.
		Once accepted, Page began to broaden the colors and textures of this two guitar band with synthesizers, pianos and organs until one of the guitarists finally left.
		In the Spring of 2001 Page was inspired to form a trio with Oteil Burbridge on bass and Russell Batiste on drums.

		on sunday i met page in the concert area and by friend was quick to say, "page, this guy bicycled up t to see you!" page looked at me and said, "oh, so your the biker!" apparently i was in the limestone paper the day before and was the topic of conversation backstage.
		Maybe the presence of Page's brother, the VOLS win, and maybe a shot at the presumed high population of Michigan fans that were in the croud, was the reason for the playing.

		McConnell recruited an all-star rhythm section to comprise his trio: bassist Oteil Burbridge (who played in the Aquarium Rescue Unit and with the Allman Brothers), and drummer Russell Batiste (who joined funk legends the Meters when they reformed in the 1980s and was voted musician of the year in New Orleans).

		A little more than a year after Phish officially announced their hiatus, keyboardist, Page McConnell's new band, Vida Blue, will close out the year with two shows, December 30th in Burlington, Vermont, and New Year's Eve in New York.
