Web page - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pages often have additional content on the right which is not visible in smaller windows without horizontal scrolling.
Pages designed to scroll horizontally are less common, partly because they do not print out well, but can be used to good effect for galleries or to add interest to a site.
However, to view a web page, as it is intended, one needs a type of software known as a user agent or better still a web browser, which is a piece of software specifically designed to view web pages.

It can be viewed from the page history: for every version there are potentially two radio buttons: the left column is for selecting the older version, the right column for selecting the newer one.
Thus if user A vandalized a page, and user B partially reverted that vandalism, the diff of the two together shows the remaining vandalism, but rollback reverts the partial repair by user B! Edit summaries are also shown on the diff page.
Page widening is more likely on a diff page, because there are two columns, but also because URLs (especially long ones) are not hidden.

Web pages also contain content that cannot be seen in the browser: Graphics are visual presentations on some surface such as a wall, canvas, computer screen, paper or stone to inform, illustrate or entertain.
The term web server can mean one of two things: a computer responsible for serving web pages, mostly HTML documents, via the HTTP protocol to clients, mostly web browsers; a software program that is working as a daemon serving web documents.
A permalink (a portmanteau made by contracting the phrase permanent link) is a type of URL designed to refer to a specific information item (often a news story or weblog item) and to remain unchanged permanently, or at least for a lengthy period of time to prevent link rot.

Doorway pages are web pages that are created to rank high in search engines for particular phrases with purpose to seduce or hoax you to watch another page.
Doorway pages are easy to identify in that they have been designed primarily for search engines, not for human beings.
Sometimes a doorway page is copied from another high ranking page, but this is likely to cause the search engine to detect the page as a duplicate and exclude it from the search engine listings.

Except in special cases a page wider than fits on the screen, requiring horizontal scrolling, is impractical and therefore avoided: see page widening.
A page higher than fits on the screen is more common and not problematic; it requires vertical scrolling to see all of it.
Perhaps such a page, as well as a page with a form field filled in, strictly can not be called a webpage, because it is not on the web, but created from what is on the web.

As with many other Universities, our Widening Access initiatives are aimed at attracting what are termed "non-traditional" students from the local area into the medical profession.
Non-traditional students in Phase 1 Medicine are generally categorised as those from the lower social classes who would perhaps consider a career in medicine out of their reach, or mature students who have spent some time in the workforce and have professional qualifications rather than A-Levels or a degree.
Widening Access in Phase 1 Medicine is coordinated by Dr. Jackie Spence through a grant from the Workforce Development Confederation.

As fractious as the widening of Covington's 12th Street has been over the years, when all commissioners are on the same page at the same time it is worth noting.
While Spence called the current plan "one based in reality" and one that he applauded for its citizen input from the outset, he still insisted that his vote was merely to send the new plan to OKI for review and certainly nothing more than that.
It also should be noted that Spence, who has opposed previous street widening plans, will have ample opportunity to take shots at the project as a voting member of OKI and that it was OKI that previously favored a useless two-lane project over four-lane widening.

Took advantage of the white space by widening the page to 760 pixels, which fills the page while preventing the need for left-right scrolling within 800x600 resolution, still used by a large percentage of the population.

The Spit Bridge Widening - 26/06/2003 - PRIV
The body of the report says that contra-peak hour flow benefits will accrue from the widening of The Spit Bridge, that outside peak hour all traffic will flow more smoothly and that there will be an improvement in safety because there will be no lane changing on the approaches to the bridge.
The questions were, "Do you support the widening of the bridge?" and "Do you support fewer openings?" Both of those questions were overwhelmingly supported.
That was in 1994, not 1894, although some people would consider Tony Abbot to be more of a 1694 man. The proposed widening would be the first major project on the surrounds of The Spit Bridge for nearly 50 years.

Most significantly the bridge widening will improve the south-bound morning peak-hour traffic flow, because the nine lanes from Sydney Road and the Burnt Bridge Creek Deviation funnel down to three lanes, one of which is a bus lane.
The proposal is to widen the four-lane section of the bridge over the water; the trees are located along the six-lane section on the approaches to the bridge.
