Pah Wraith - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the fictional Star Trek universe, Pah Wraiths (also spelled Pagh Wraiths, Bajoran for Soul Wraiths) are evil Bajoran Prophets, non-corporeal life-forms, who were expelled from the Bajoran wormhole and are imprisoned in the Bajoran Fire Caves on the planet Bajor.
In another incident, episode "The Reckoning", the Emissary (Benjamin Sisko) released a Pah Wraith and a Prophet from an ancient artifact.
In "Tears of the Prophets", Gul Dukat unleashed a Pah Wraith from an ancient relic which possessed his body and proceeded to use an orb at Deep Space Nine to close the wormhole.

DS9 Encyclopedia & Lexicon - Recurring Characters: Dukat
He disappeared for several months (once contacting Kira to regale her with the information that her mother had been his mistress, in "Wrongs Darker Than Death or Night"), and spent time studying ancient Bajoran texts, then returned to Cardassia, claiming to have the key to victory over Sisko and the Alpha Quadrant.
Breaking a Bajoran statue, he became possessed by the pah-wraith inside, and went to DS9, where the wraith destroyed the Orb of Contemplation, also killing Jadzia Dax in the process ("Tears of the Prophets").
During the ritual to free the pah-wraiths, she poisoned him as a sacrifice; but the wraiths possessed Dukat's body instead, returning him to his Cardassian appearance.

Prophet (Star Trek) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
At some point in the distant past, some prophets were forcibly expelled from their wormhole home, and chose to reside on Bajor, where they became known as the mythical Pah Wraiths.
The wraiths long for revenge against the other prophets, and often take over the bodies of corporeal beings to reach that end, even going as far as occupying the body of Keiko O'Brien, thus almost forcing her husband, Chief Miles O'Brien, to kill the prophets.
Since the Wormhole Aliens/Prophets seem at times to have little knowledge of other species, the exact nature of their relationship to the Bajorans is unknown.

In reality, this vision was from the Pah Wraiths, and the "guide" was Gul Dukat, who had been surgically altered to look like a Bajoran.
Dukat and Winn soon became lovers, and he convinced her that in order to restore Bajor, she must release the Pah Wraiths, who he claimed were the true gods of Bajor.
Dukat, infused with powers from the Pah Wraiths, enveloped Winn in flames and destroyed her for her actions.

The story of the campaign involves the Pah Wraiths, the race of ancient, all-powerful aliens who are on the verge of returning.
It's known from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine that the Pah Wraiths were banished by The Prophets to the fire caves on planet Bajor and forbidden to return.
For the game they are set to re-establish their supremacy and the keys to unleashing and harnessing their power are three archaic Red Orbs.

I don't think so, the wraith where evil from the start or else the hologram in 'rising' would have mentioned it.
If we were little Wraiths, I bet we'd think the Atlantis expedition is evil because they're messing with the established order.
The Ori have way more similarities with the Pah Wraiths, cavern of fire, existing as wisp of flame, the ability to possess people, glowy fiery eye, telekinetic powers, an enemy with the same powers who's generally unconcerned with corporeal matters, and wanting people to worship them as gods.

Kai Winn begins investigating the existence of the Pah Wraiths and is forced to turn against her aide; meanwhile she learns Anjohl's secret.
However, this is woefully inconsistent with the depiction of the Pah Wraiths and the Fire Caves throughout the duration of the series.
Despite the fact that the Pah Wraiths can't be released without being summoned by the magic book, one still was able to possess Keiko when she visited the Fire Caves just previous to "The Assignment".

When Captain Sisko finally found the Orb of the Emissary he received a vision (supposedly from the Pah Wraiths) about him being Benny Russel (the 1950s writer), he was writing on the walls of a metal hospital because the hospital would not give him paper to right his story Deep Space Nine.
I thought the part where Sisko had the vision of Benny Russel was great, the way the Prophets and Pah Wraiths both manipulate his mind to convince him of what is right.
