I felt at home there and it was very cozy...I traveled with my mother who often would want to go back during the day and rest..I can't say enough about the location being as convenient as it was..
Excellent location...we walked out the front door and we were less than a block to Ponte Veccio, two blocks to the Pitti Palace and five blocks from the Duomo.
The most important thing to me when I travel is a nice,clean bathroom and kitchen and surroundings...Conchita was all of that..it was very small but very comfortable.

The tall towered square shaped Palazzo Veccio (the old palace) was a totally amazing experience to me. This is where Micelangelo's David was first revealed to the public, to simply stand there, out in the open in the large and beautiful square.
At least the unguided tour of the Palazzo Veccio is an absolute must.
Additionally, in the immense throne room of the old palace, there is a video and computer graphics show of a most unique feature of the city.

On our way there we first encountered what seems to be an obession with the Italians to name one street multiple names, and also change the street name from across an intersection.

The Degli Orafi is ideally situated a stone's throw from the Ponte Veccio and the Uffizi, in what was once a convent, then a palace.
At the top of the hotel on the 5th floor was a bar where you could sit either inside or outside with a view on one side of the rooftops and the Duomo or, on the other side - the river and the Ponte Veccio.
The view of the Ponte Vecchio, Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio was breathtaking.

My hotel is very conveniently located to all the major sites and I recommend it for good value — just expect to be woken up at 7:00 and then again at 7:15 because the church bells ring at those times.
Our daytime adventure starts at 10am with a 7 minute walk to Palazzo Veccio where we rub noses with a statue for good luck, see the museum inside which contains large congress rooms and some family fun with a children’s museum and hidden-tunnel tours (reservations needed for these).
Walked past the Uffizi (which is in the Palazzo Veccio where we started) to the Ponte Veccio which is a bridge over the river lined with jewelry shops; from afar it looks like a mural of box-drawings over a bridge.

Did both bus routes and the hour stop in Fiesole in about 3 hours the hopped off near the Ponte Veccio and walked back through the centre of Florence to the railway station.
Excellent way to spend the day and the commentary on both buses was very good for a general overview of the city and it's surrounding area.
We stopped at the Piazza della Signorina and Palazzo Vecchio before heading over the bridge.

Crossed the Arno on the Ponte Veccio, the only bridge to survive WWII (thanks to NZ, believe it or not).
Nearby, the Palazzo Reale was interesting for a town hall, but far more impressibe was the domed building behind it, whose white columns and overhanging roof inscribed a semi-circular back to the large plaza.
A couple were having their wedding photo in the center of it at the time, which was cool.

In 1564, An architect named Giorgio Vasari designed and built the famous “corridor” which connects the Uffizi Gallery with Palazzo Pitti.

Leaving the comfort of the estate in the morning, we headed towards Firenze, arriving there just after 1.
Given just about an hour to walk freely through the city and it’s attractions, I went to the Ponte Veccio, filled with jewel store after jewel store, the Duomo, with its green-fl and white marble façade, and the Palazza Uffizi, with a long line of tourists snaking out the front door.
Sights to see include the Palazzo dei Priori (13th century) and the Duomo/Cattedrale di San Lorenzo (14th century), though parts of the cathedral are under repairs right now.

My group first walked to a famous art museum known for having some of the best modern art in the world.
After that we walked o ver the Ponte Veccio, which is also a very famous bridge, because there are shops all along the bridge jutting out from the side and most of what they sell along the bridge is just gold and jewelry, very expensive.
We then traveled to the Palazzo Veccio, which is big square building that looks like a castle with a tall clock at the top.
