The aim is to encourage Palestinians, both direct victims and witnesses, to come forth with their reports of illegal settler activities, to put pressure on Israeli authorities to intervene, and to facilitate the pursuit of justice in aftermath of these cases.

Eid, an Arab resident of Jerusalem, is the founder and executive director of the Palestinian Human Rights Monitoring Group, an independent non-governmental organisation established in December 1996.
Eid said that Palestinians who had been arrested were threatened upon their release that if they spoke to human rights groups about their experiences they would be rearrested and tortured.

A Palestinian human rights group demanded in its annual report issued on Sunday that the Palestinian Authority (PA) cancel 24 death sentences in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian Human Rights Monitoring Group said that since the PA was established in 1999 under "peace deals" with Israel, 27 death sentences had been issued and three of them were carried out.
The report added that of the 15 Palestinians tried by the state security court in 1999, four had received death sentences, and it said that civilians were still being tried in military courts.

The total figures of Palestinians killed include hundreds of Palestinians killed by other Palestinians, hundreds of suicide bombers, dozens of armed militants killed during paramilitia operations, people killed during explosions of terrorist bomb factories, etc. That's not in dispute, as far as I know.
Many thousands, hundreds of thousands, or millions of Palestinians would be dead, as happened in other conflicts where civilians were targetted by militia with weapons did, like Cambodia and East Timor.
The Palestinians always claim in EVERY case that these incidents happened unprovoked, but that's been demonstrated to be false many times.
