	Obituaries
		Pallam was born June 2, 1920, in Boston, son of the late Frederick T. and Elizabeth Murray Pallam.
		Pallam proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard aviation division from 1942 until 1964, when he retired at the rank of chief petty officer.
		Pallam was a member of the American Legion, and a faithful charter member of the Edgehill Church of God in Dover, where he served on the board of directors, sang in the choir and was an usher.

		The term Pallar seems to have been derived from the word Pallam, meaning a pit or low-lying region.
		Since wet land is usually found in low lying area and the Pallars were often engaged in cultivation of such land, they came to be known as Pallam and latter as Pallan and Pallar.
		It is argued with sufficient support of literature that the Pallars of today were actually known as Mallar belonging to the Dravidian race about 2300 years back and were the rulers of Tamil country during the 14th - 15th centuries.

		Pallam Kuzhi (or Pallamkurie) game is played in southern India with 4 seeds in each hole at the start of the play on 2x7 boards, according to Larry Russ explains in his book The Complete Mancala Games Book.
		The players alternate moving in successive rounds until one player fails to win at least 4 seeds in a round and is therefore unable to fill even one hole.
		Pallanguli (or Pallankuli) game is played in southern India by the same rules just described for Pallam Kuzhi (or Pallamkurie) except that the play begins with six seeds in each hole.

	Antharjana Samaajam
		Along with the revolutionary activities of the "Yogakshema Sabha" (Click here), the "Antahrjanams" (women of the Namboothiri community) came out of their traditional veils ("Ghosha") and began to wake up to the needs for a social change, under the leadership of Parvathy Nenminimangalam, Parvathy Nilayangod, Parvathy Manazhi, Arya Pallam, Neeli Mangalass and Lalithambika Antharjanam.
		Although a couple of Antharjana Samaajams were then organised under the leadership of Arya Pallam and others, what gave birth to the present Samaajam was the one that congregated in Namboothiri Vidyaalayam at Thrissur in 1939.
		The Samaajam was rejuvenated during 1945 when the Yogakshema Sabha met under the leadership of E M S Namboodiripad, and subsequently held a meeting at Paarakkunnam Mana at Thrissur in 1947.

		The Parliamentary Standing Committee of Spectrum management headed by Pallam Raju had said,"All efforts should be made to allot as much spectrum as the government can in 800/1900 MHz for CDMA operators and 900/1800 MHz for GSM operators for the expansion of the telecom services."
		According to a note sent by WPC to DoT, the current proposals of PDT on spectrum do not include any reference to 800/1900 MHz bands for CDMA.
