The Palm IIIc Recharger Kit is similar to the Palm V Travel Kit, containing an AC charger, various adapters for different countries' electrical outlets, and a carrying bag.
Palm, Inc. rates the Palm IIIc's battery life at "two weeks of normal usage" -- this is definitely a "your mileage may vary" issue.
Multiple Palm device households may be a little disappointed -- the power connector for the Palm IIIc's cradle is shaped differently from that of the Palm V series, so you'll a need little more desk space for the Palm IIIc cradle and another outlet for its transformer.

Palm has been cautious with what they say about Palm IIIc battery life, but maybe they have been a bit too cautious (or maybe they didn't want to draw attention to the relatively poor battery performance of the Palm V).
Palm has noted that the backlight brightness is the key factor, and of course they are correct.
The Palm V used in the test is less than two weeks old, and has had a total of 5 recharge cycles since being unwrapped.

The first Palm to feature a colour display, which does come at a price premium though, is often disgarded by many as just being a rich geeks toy, the IIIc hasn't received the warmest of welcomes.
Pressing the calendar button on the Palm will automatically turn it on and load the date book, then all it takes is a tap on the time you wish to set the appointment, and quickly scribble in a note.
In fact, Palm seems to have taken steps to ensure that the operations life of the unit is on par with the rest of the Palm family.

 The Gadgeteer - Extreme Limits Palm IIIc Case Review
I had never heard of Extreme Limit before I was presented with this Palm IIIc case for review, so I was pleasantly surprised when I visited their website, to see that they make a wide array of cases for many different PDAs and Laptop Computers.
The tab flap crosses the top of your Palm when it is closed, and when it is open, the sides of the case will grasp your Palm sufficiently that it won’t fall out — unless you plan on turning the case upside down and shaking your Palm onto the floor.
It is very simple to extract your Palm from the Extreme Limit case; all you have to do is use a finger to push your Palm up from the bottom cutout, and then grasp the top of your Palm as it exits the top slot.

Following a trend that started with the Palm V, the four main buttons are concave instead of convex, and the rocker-style scroll button has been replaced with two separate buttons, but they are still linked by a small channel meant to emulate the look of the existing Palm III models.
The Palm IIIc is a bit longer than the other Palm III devices, due mostly to the larger battery, but it is still compatible with the many peripherals designed to snap onto the bottom.

For one it would solve the drain problem when the Palm is left in the cradle and additionally it would generate a proper DTR signal for *all* external modems.
The pity for the IIIc is the existance of the PalmV(x).
Palm solved the power problem of previous color PDAs very well, if you could live with the battery life of a Palm V, you can live with a Palm IIIc too.

 The Gadgeteer - Palm IIIc Review
The Palm IIIc from 3Com / Palm Computing is their first PDA with a color display.
The stylus and silo on the IIIc are the same as the III except that the silo is rotated more towards the side of the unit.
I think Palm is on the right track but I am again looking forward to their next offering with hopes that it will hopefully address some of the issues I've mentioned here and also add some more features that take advantage of color.

I bought a PALM 3c in mid March, and by mid April I noticed 2 hairline cracks in the back case.
Some Palm web site(s) should look into this issue and try to get a response from Palm since they are obviously blowing off their customers by saying they are the only ones with the problem and that it will cost $100 to get the case replaced.
A side note: in all my palm units (a Pilot Pro, a visor and now my Palm IIIc) I've bought and used a PDA Panache custom stylus, and they all have cracked, chipped or otherwise broken stylus wells; apparently the way the replacement stylus is held, puts excessive tension in the plastic housing.

This color version of the insanely-popular Palm Computing line is being billed as the smallest and lightest (6.8 ounces) color PDA on the market.
Palm Computing claims the built-in rechargeable Li-Ion battery in the IIIc provides a respectable two weeks on a charge.
A color Palm probably doesn't make much sense if all you're going to be doing is managing nag lists, an address book, a calendar, etc. The utility of color becomes more apparent when you look at some of the third party software that's included with the IIIc.

With my handy Palm handheld I have even got some of the die hards to learn to use a Palm device and now one of our Doctors has two and has gotten brave enough to do all his dictation on it and then infrared it to the printer and also his discharge instructions.

In April 2000 I received my first handheld computer, the Palm IIIc.
On my palm I have a drug reference, a drug calculation program, a calculator, relevant lab values with normal ranges plus our Arterial Blood Gas Decoder and the O2 Tank calculator, along with my daily organizer and my phone book.
People are really impressed with the quality of the pictures and the slide show on the Palm IIIc.
