Although the band would ditch this kind of heavy rock after this album, alongside 'Anthem' and 'Working Man', this is by far the best song their early output would yield.
The band themselves would concur that this is a very weak effort indeed, seeing it only as a stumbling block for '2112'- another side long epic, but was an immeasurable improvement over this laboured affair.
Certainly Panacea and Bacchus Plateau make fine songs on their out of context of the epic, even though there is a continuous story that holds the songs together.

After cutting his teeth in seminal nineties bands “Quite Sane” and “Tomorrow’s Warriors” (which evolved into “J-Life”), Mitchell was ready to branch out on his own.
“Panacea” found form as a powerful six-piece ensemble whose debut album “Voyager” [DUNECD04] was released to critical acclaim in 2001.
