Bocas del Toro Province is bordered by the Caribbean Sea to the north, Veraguas Province to the east, Chiriqui Province to the south and Costa Rica to the west.
Most of the province is on the slopes of the Talamanca and Central mountain ranges, but the majority of its 93,000 inhabitants live in low-lying areas along the coast and on islands.
This little-visited province is an island- buff's delight and an explorer's treat, with wide, jungle-flanked rivers, huge swaths of rainforest and long stretches of coastline largely devoid of human beings.

Matanzas was selected to share the main activities for July 26th this year with its neighboring province, Cienfuegos -- where the Cuban leader addressed residents and foreign guests, denouncing Washington's constant, hostile policies against the island over the past 40 years.
Final touches are being made in Matanzas in preparation for the activity next Monday night -- commemorating the 46th anniversary of the attack on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Garrisons in the eastern part of the island.
