	Scurta istorie a orasului Panciu (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-02)
		Bioclimatic, Panciu se afla in zona de silvostepa (climat continental est-european, cu influente central-europene, dar si ale circulatiei dintre masele de aer mediteranean-tropicale din sud si scandinavo-baltice din nord).
		Podgoria Panciu cuprinde trei centre viticole: Panciu, Tifesti si Paunesti, suprafata totala a podgoriei depasind 9500 hectare.
		In decursul timpului, viile din podgoria Panciu au suferit mult atat din cauza bolilor (filoxera in 1890, mana in 1913-1914, din nou filoxera in 1931), cat si din cauza distrugerulor din primul razboi mondial.

		Deşi putem spune că oraşul Panciu are istorie, acest lucru este dovedit mai ales de faptul că oraşul actual nu este prima construcţie, nu mai are doar case şi toate construite după acelaşi stil, case joase, văruite în alb şi cu acoperiş din două ape ci în mare parte blocuri.
		Aceasta nu a fost singura nenorocire ce s-a abătut asupra oraşului ci a urmat şi al doilea Panciu, construit după cutremur din lemn, în 1869, ce a lăsat în urmă doar cenuşa de după incendiu.

		Al jaren organiseert Bouworde bouwkampen in het zigeunerdorpje Vale Brazi bij Panciu, op drie uur met de trein van Bucharest.

	Guvernul Romaniei - Nota de fundamentare
		Judeţul Vrancea s-a confruntat şi se confruntă în continuare cu probleme privind furnizarea energiei termice pentru oraşul Panciu, problemă generată de preţul mare de producţie al gigacaloriei care a fost în anul 2002 de 3,5 ori mai mare decât preţul naţional de referinţă.
		Datorită deficienţelor de ordin financiar şi a datoriilor privind furnizarea agentului termic, în prezent, în oraşul Panciu nu se furnizează energie termică în sistem centralizat, ceea ce constituie o problemă deosebită pentru comunitate.
		Instituţiile de învăţământ din oraşul Panciu racordate la sistemul centralizat de furnizare a energiei termice au în procesul de educaţie un număr de 1.700 de copii.

		Pe la 1890 se vedea înca vechea pravalie de lemn a lui Baciu Penciu, cu acoperisul Tuguiat, de trei ori mai înalt decât casa, asa cum era cladit tot orasul vechi.
		A venit însa alimentarea orasului, care a taiat pridvorul lat al pravaliei, si peste gura beciului din pridvor s-a întins pavajul din lespezi de piatra cioplita, acoperind ca într-un mormânt primul beciu din Panciu, locul de obârsie al orasului.
		Dar Dumnezeu a vrut ca apa ploilor sa moaie pamântul afânat ce înfundase gura beciului si mica depresiune a trotuarului de azi sa însemne si sa deie la iveala punctul de plecare al orasului Panciu.
