Panda car - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A panda car is a small or medium-sized police car operated by British police forces.
Panda cars were named after pandas because they were originally painted in large panels of fl and white, or blue (usually light blue) and white.
In many areas the panda car replaced the traditional "bobby on the beat" when it was seen that larger suburban or rural areas could be more effectively patrolled by officers in cars, as opposed to on foot, bicycles or motorcycles.

FIAT -Managing the Marketing Mix for the Launch of the New Fiat Panda, 7th Edition
The New Panda has been designed to fit, or be positioned, into what is essentially a new middle ground between very traditional sections of the car-buying public, the small car segment and the new emerging ‘big’ small car segment.
The New Panda hopes to appeal to the small car segment and the initial first car buyer segment while also appealing to families who wish to acquire a second car, or to those using their car in urban or city areas.
In the case of the New Panda, its USP hinges on the fact that you get more than you expected; it is a practical small car with all the driver advantages that go with that but it also has a sporty, cheeky, and irresistible appeal.

The new Panda :: car.kak.net :: your source to car news
Over the years the name Panda has become a veritable brand name, full of emotional overtones, and one that motorists in Italy and the rest of Europe are still extremely fond of.
In addition, Fiat Auto's decision to call its new car the Panda completely eliminates the concerns expressed by a competitor regarding a similarity between the name of one of its cars already on the market and 'Gingo', the name by which the new car was known during its previews.
Hence the new car comes with engines that are lively performers but decidedly thrifty when it comes to fuel consumption (the results are among the best in the car's category) and represent an effective solution in and out of town.

Fiat has launched a hydrogen version of its new city car - the Panda - which runs on hydrogen and produces water vapour as its only exhaust gas which, unlike the emissions of a normal car (or indeed the methane produced as the exhaust gas of bamboo-eating Panda) is harmless to the environment.
The Panda Hydrogen has now taken up the baton to take research from the laboratory prototype stage to that of a field research vehicle.
