Pandemonium Shadow Show - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pandemonium Shadow Show is an album by Harry Nilsson.
Unlike virtually all his earlier records, Show employed the full potential of Nilsson's three-octave singing voice in the recording studio, turning him into what was described as a "chorus of ninety-eight voices".
Enjoying the track, he ordered a case of copies of the album, sending them out to various industry people he believed would be interested, including each of the Beatles, who were suitably impressed, and later invited Nilsson to London, ushering in a whole new, larger phase of his career.

Harry Nilsson's debut album Pandemonium Shadow Show was notoriously loved by the Beatles, and it's easy to see why.
Nilsson works on a much smaller scale, leaning heavily on whimsy yet cutting it with sardonic humor and embellishing it with remarkable song and studiocraft; it's as if McCartney and Lennon were fused into the same body.
Pandemonium can't help but feel like a cheeky show of strength by a remarkably gifted imp, spinning out psychedelic fantasias and jokes and trumping his idols by turning out a cover of "She's Leaving Home" (recorded ten days after Sgt.

 Harry Nilsson
During the course of his career, he recorded an eclectic variety of songs that incorporated many different styles, including hard rock ("Jump Into the Fire"), children's music ("Me and My Arrow"), novelty songs ("Coconut"), and soft rock ("I Guess the Lord Must Be in New York City").
After years of trying, Nilsson finally managed to release an album, Pandemonium Shadow Show[?] (1967), which was immediately a critical success.
The album included a medley of Beatles songs, "You Can't Do That", and that band quickly became enamored of him, leading to rumors that Nilsson would join the band after John Lennon and Paul McCartney called him their favorite American singer.

Nilsson records all the vocals on these albums layering his 3 octave voice again and again to stunning effect - and all this was recorded in the primitive days of four track analogue recording.
I think Everett started playing tracks from Pandemonium Shadow Show - I think he played 1941 which is featured on this collection and of course later he played the immortal Everybody's Talking.

Being all over the place with his music, as on Pandemonium, brought on the danger of falling victim to lame unfunny jokes (such as 'Ten Little Indians') or gimmicky experiments with Beatles tunes that were fun to listen to just once and then forget forever.

His initial series of albums in the late '60s made him a personal favorite of the Beatles, who found a natural affinity with his knack for catchy melodies, witty lyrics, and extraordinary vocal range.
Nilsson had been struggling to make inroads into the music business for over five years before his critically acclaimed 1967 album, Pandemonium Shadow Show.
But Nilsson didn't quit his bank job until after the release of Pandemonium Shadow Show, which gave him creative rein in the studio for the first time, and showcased his three-and-a-half-octave voice to full advantage.
