Pangbourne is a civil parish with an elected parish council.

Pangbourne College is a public school located in the village of Pangbourne in the English county of Berkshire.
The college was founded in 1917 as Pangbourne Nautical College with the function of preparing boys to be officers in the Merchant Navy, and later in the Royal Navy.
In 1969, it shed much of the nautical training in favour of a more traditional academic focus, and became Pangbourne College.

It's notable for a couple of reasons however: it's the final resting places of my parents-in-law, John and Helen Glenn, and it features a handful of what can only be described as "home made" gravestones - if that's the right word, since some of them are constructed of wood.
