The people of Pangil have plenty to celebrate and be grateful for, for this year marks the 425th anniversary of the town's formal founding in 1579 by the Spanish Franciscan Friars, Father Diego Aranilla de Oropeza and Juan Placencia.
Pangil owes much of its heritage to the various people who have come in waves over the centuries, each group leaving its indelible mark producing a unique blend of East and West, both in its appearance and culture.
Pakil was part of Pangil then so the town hall was situated on San Marcos Street, Balian,  deemed to be  the centre of town.
