Moe's mother has contacted the band via a heartfelt letter, in which she gives the impression that she does not blame the band either, but rather the environment in which her daughter got caught up on tour.
Williams, who has worked with Widespread Panic since 1991 and as a co-manager since 1995, is still quick to defend the band's fan base and the general good of the pre- and post-show "lot scene." "The Panic scene is somewhat of a social scene," he says.
Widespread Panic have always been notoriously quiet about their volunteerism, but the fact is that they try to leave a mark everywhere they go, to the order of thousands of dollars.

Not only will they get a good guitar show for their money; they’ll also see a band that is not afraid to take chances with their set.
"Panic Attack is one group that is not only growing by leaps and bounds in their own music, but also helping open up St. Louis to a broad new music scene.
Panic Attack's new alternative-rock sound is led by a singer who can wail like Courtney Love or haunt you like Natalie Merchant, and, odd as that may sound, it ends up being a great blend that is winning fans all over the St. Louis area."

Also like the Dead the band's studio output has sometimes been overlooked, which is a shame as some of their previous albums have been good to excellent particularly in terms of musicianship.
That is not to say any of the band's previous efforts have been shabby, just that with this particular album they seem to have lifted their recording technique up to the level of their live performances and made the songs more commercial and perhaps a little more accessible.
A case in point would be the opening track "Little Lilly" which whilst having a catchy chorus retains some of the band's superb musicianship and would surely become a staple of the band's live set.On the other hand "Sometimes" wouldn't sound out of place on FM radio.

Panic has grown from a small core of devoted fans in Athens, who came to hear the band's improvisational Southern rock-meets-Grateful Dead inspired jams, to the heirs of the Dead's mantle as jam-rock kings.
Panic got its start when Schools, Bell and Houser met in the Athens music scene (the same one that's spawned acts as varied as R.E.M. to Jucifer).
The band is eyeing another tour in the spring, but like the fall run, it will likely be shorter than what Spreadheads have become accustomed to.

Black Flag (band) - Education - Information - Educational Resources - Encyclopedia - Music
The hardcore punk rock band Black Flag was formed in 1976 in southern California, largely as the brainchild of Greg Ginn, guitarist, primary songwriter and sole continuous member through multiple personnel changes.
The band was a seminal influence on different trends in punk rock, from hardcore punk to death metal, and even pioneered the underground capitalism of do-it-yourself record labels that flourished among the 1980s' punk rock bands.
There were few opportunities for punk rock bands to perform in southern California, so Black Flag organized their own gigs, perfoming at picnics, house parties, schools, anyplace that was available.

Night Of Joy by Dirty Dozen Brass Band / Widespread Panic CD
Old friends the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, previously featured on 2000's ANOTHER JOYOUS OCCASION, return to provide further funky backdrops to tunes ranging from the familiar (the smoldering "Arleen" and the mighty New Orleans groove of "Bayou Lena") to covers (Bill Withers's "Use Me" and a Southern-fried version of Stevie Wonder's "I Wish").
Meanwhile, the core band expertly dissects and reinvents old favorites such as "Thought Sausage" and the distinctly 1970s-sounding "Rebirtha," here heard as a triumphant 17-minute finale.
The Widepsread I heard on this cd was the version of the band coming into their own in the post-Mikey days with George ripping up the guitar solos.

Another Joyous Occasion by Dirty Dozen Brass Band / Widespread Panic CD
For the first release on its own Widespread Records, Widespread Panic went with its strengths and released a live set recorded during the band's summer 1999 tour.
The results are stellar and work particularly well on both the groove-heavy "Fishwater," and the loping, Big Easy feel of "Christmas Katie." The most interesting intersection of these two groups comes on the epic, near 12-minute "Beehive Jam," a swirling instrumental opus that includes plenty of Sun Ra-influenced, free jazz nuances.
A well-traveled band, the range of Widespread Panic's regional influences include Detroit (Stevie Wonder's "Superstition"), New Orleans (Dr. John's "I Walk On Gilded Splinters," Earl King's "Big Chief"), and Jamaica (reggae pioneer Winston Riley's "Arleen").
