In his latest film, ‘Panic Room’, Fincher creates a superbly suspenseful and eerie piece of entertainment all the while breaking new ground in terms of technological achievement.
One such example is how Fincher uses his camera to track through the whole house from moving the camera through the kitchen in one single take, or bringing the camera through floors and walls in order to maintain one single, fluid sequence of beauty within his film.
The opening title sequence has the credits of the film displayed as though they are Marquis on high-rise buildings.

 Panic Room (2002)
PANIC ROOM, Finchers latest movie was a fantastic, simple, yet gripping piece of filmaking.
From the opening title sequence and throughout, this movie had all the elements of a Hitchcock classic, however Fincher brought his dark, raw and gothic-like ambience to it, making this a much watch picture.
Because of this, reshoots had to be made in the autumn of 2001 after she had given birth, as principal photography took longer than planned.

 Moda Magazine (Modamag.com) Film/Movie Review
There are plenty of delicious suspense set pieces to "Panic Room." A sequence involving Meg’s exodus from the Panic Room to retrieve a cell phone, shot in slow motion, should be enough to have you gnaw off your fingernails for good.
"Panic Room" might seem small and modest on the outside, but once in, the picture is an orgy of tension and thrills unmatched by any film in the last year.
Now David Fincher’s "Panic Room" is certainly high tech, but the entire film is set in the claustrophobic confines of a room no bigger than a jail cell.

Turner Classic Movies - Movie News
Panic in the Streets is interesting for a number of reasons.
Elia Kazan's Panic in the Streets (1950), included in the series' first trio, is among the better noirs Fox released.
They do a good job of talking about how Kazan approached Panic in the Streets as the chance to transition from, as one says, "a director of performances to a director of movies," and to leave the overt social messages of his late-1940s movies Gentlemen's Agreement and Pinky behind.

Fantasy and Science Fiction - Book Reviews
Even the Viriconium sequence, set in one of the most dazzling, lapidary, and baroque Dying Earths ever envisioned, has about it the pungent reek of everyday life---doomed scholars of arcana worrying about their teeth, alien invasions triggering not just panic but a palpable sense of ennui and thwarted plans for commerce.
Harrison is perhaps best-known for the Viriconium sequence---The Pastel City, A Storm of Wings, In Viriconium and the story collection Viriconium Nights---fuliginously dark, mordant and exceptionally haunting novels which are among the masterpieces of twentieth-century fantasy (and which have been reissued as such, in the UK's Fantasy Masterworks series).
The finest stories are the most recent, "Black Houses" and "Science and the Arts." Neither could easily be described as genre work.
