		PANKRTI: Lepi In Pazni / Lublana Je Bulana 7` (Skuc/GP-2) 1978.
		Self financed, this was recorded in Gorizia, Italy and released through SKUC (Students' Cultural Center) Pankrti later release their first album through a "major" label (RTVLJ).
		Produced and co-released by Igor Vidmar who also produced many other great early Yugo records and was the promotor behind most early concerts and festivals.

		I heard Sex Pistols music on National Radio (Radio Student was politically correct and musically dull at the time), and then went to the very first Pankrti gig in October '77, wrote the review of the gig for the major pop weekly, and that was that.
		The main "problem" was my lack of experience and the studio engineer (also the owner) who was just afraid that the lyrics would be too prominent in the mix, so he tried - as previously with Pankrti - to push the buttons accordingly whenever I wasn't attentive enough.
		The punk music started being played on National Radio, Pankrti released a hugely popular first album, Novi Rock festival for new bands started in the centre of Ljubljana, etc. etc., so the "system" had to do something.

		Maybe only Pankrti were faithful to "good old" punk rock.

	Rüdiger Rossig: YU-Rock: A brief history
		The Slovenian band Pankrti became famous for songs like ”Ne računajte na nas” (Don't count on us), a parody of a famous Titoist anthem ”Računajte na nas” (Count on us) by chansonier Djordje Balašević from Novi Sad and a clear statement towards the Communist authorities.
		Pankrti were one of the first SFRJ bands to write lyrics that directly and angrily clashed with state pressure against the control that the party's administration had over cultural production.
		Though Rock and Roll was no longer the leading style in music and culture, the clear anti-war stand taken by some of the greatest early eighties pop idols, made an impact on Belgrade’s youth.

		This second text about a new series of photographic portraits of the people of Metelkova City by photographer Damjan Kocjancic and entitled The Face, has been in my head for some time.
		The faces of those individuals who work in Metelkova City and live for Metelkova City, the first post-socialist squat that turned upside down the sleepy and sickly Ljubljana mentioned in that Pankrti song a quarter of a century ago.
		When writing about the first part of The Face project, I described the entire context that structured the environment of these photographs.

		In the late seventies and early eighties Yugoslavia had many interesting punk and new wave bands and I was behind the mixing desk with practically everyone of these groups.
		I think that bands from this period PANKRTI, PARAF and especially ELEKTRICNI ORGAZAM made some interesting records.
		In the eighties and nineties I have worked on many worthwhile projects and among them LAIBACH and obviously DEVIL DOLL have been the most challenging, even if I have been responsible to many other albums I`m also quite proud of.

		Assisting bands such as Pankrti through his involvement with KUC - Student Culture & Art Centre.
		The main people involved with KUC were Peter, Taja Vidmar-Brejc and Igor Vidmar (Pankrti's manager) along with Marina Grzinic who directed their cultural programme and was one of the key champions of alternative culture.
		Igor Vidmar soon became Laibach's manager in an informal sense until they had signed up with Mute Records.
