Panzee gained far more voluntary motor control over the ability to produce low frequency sounds than either Kanzi or Panbanisha, suggesting that something about the vocal tract of Pan troglodytes is more amenable to the lower registrar than the bonobo vocal tract.
Panbanisha also demonstrated understanding of the intentionality of other agents in a bonobo version of the Sally Ann theory of mind paradigm which substituted a "bug" for the toy used in the traditional task.
