Parachute Club was a Canadian band formed in Toronto in 1982.
The band consisted of Lorraine Segato on vocals and guitar, Lauri Conger on keyboards and vocals, Billy Bryans on drums, Margo Davidson on saxophone and vocals, Julie Masi on percussion and vocals, Steve Webster on bass and Dave Gray on guitar.
On September 3, 2005, a reconstituted Parachute Club, including Segato, Bryans, Gray and Brownstone, with new members Mystic Walsh and Miranda Walsh (daughters of Eric Walsh, lead singer of Toronto reggae band Messenjah) on vocals and Ashley Wey on keyboards, headlined the City Roots music festival.

Darwin Parachute Club has seen a varied and colourful history, from the building of the club to the many people that have made the club their home, if only for a short while.
In 1994 the club moved the bar to the old packing shed and constructed a brand new packing shed and manifest area.
Darwin Parachute is one of the few remaining drop zones in Australia that is still run as a club by the members.

This world-wide club is for aviators, military and commercial, who have saved their lives with a parachute in an emergency.
In spite of this the use of parachutes as an emergency egress device for military air crewmen was not used by the French, English, or Americans during World War I, although the men in observation balloons were issued parachutes.
The only requirement for membership in the select club is that the applicant must have bailed out under emergency conditions, and furnished written confirmation from witnesses, such as commanding officers or adjutants, that the jump was a genuine emergency bail out.

Raimondi, who is president of the Sport Parachute Club, said her craziest jump was from a helicopter in Qunicey, Ill., at the World Free Fall Convention.
The Club now has a ride board posted on their Web site that allows for members with no means of transportation to get to and from the jumps.
This past December three members of the club took part in the U.S. National Collegiate Parachuting Championships in Lake Wales, Fla. There were 80 other collegiate competitors competing in a range of different events.

The group released one 12" EP, produced by yet-to-be legendary Daniel Lanois before self-destructing and evolved into V which was a reggae-pop-funk collective that played around Toronto in 1981-82.
When neither act was able to fulfill an appearance at Toronto's 'Festival Of Festivals' Segato and Bryans quickly organized a band of musicians under the name The Parachute Club.
The line-up consisted of Segato, Bryans, Conger, Davidson and Webster.

The Hereford Parachute Club was first established in 1963 by the 22nd SAS Regiment based in Hereford, Herefordshire, UK.
This was at the request from civilian residents in Hereford who wished to start sport parachuting and the club was formed at Shobdon Airfield, Hereford.
The club operated part-time until 1976 when it changed over to full time operation and continued to do so until it finished operation’s at Shobdon in 1990 and moved to Staverton Airfield in Gloucester and operated a split Drop Zone.

If you look closely on the left picture, you can see the static line, which is connected directly to the aircraft, and is responsible for automatically opening your parachute, as you start to fall away from the plane.
The parachute is just starting to deploy and the static line has become detached from the parachute.
From this point forward, he is completely on his own, free to fly the parachute wherever he wants (hopefully towards the correct place).

She was on her 200th skydive in March when the accident happened over a privately owned field near Melbourne.
The council said it might take the club's owner, Luke McWilliam, to court over the matter, but did not say if the case would be criminal or civil, the Associated Press news agency reported.
