  Russell’s Paradox
The paradox arises within naive set theory by considering the set of all sets that are not members of themselves.
The paradox was of significance to Frege’s logical work since, in effect, it showed that the axioms Frege was using to formalize his logic were inconsistent.
These four responses to the paradox have helped logicians develop an explicit awareness of the nature of formal systems and of the kinds of metalogical results that are today commonly associated with them.

Russell's Paradox (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy)
Russell's paradox ultimately stems from the idea that any coherent condition may be used to determine a set.
Recognizing that self-reference lies at the heart of the paradox, Russell's basic idea is that we can avoid commitment to R (the set of all sets that are not members of themselves) by arranging all sentences (or, equivalently, all propositional functions) into a hierarchy.

Paradox may be a little heavy on martial-arts action for some tastes, but the roller-coaster plot is full of unexpected twists, revelations, biotechnological oddities, changes of course and unlikely alliances.
However, it could be said that Paradox lacks some of the characterisation that served his first novel so well.
Sometimes, it seems as though Paradox could easily become dated by being too informed by twentieth century science, and may have already been superseded by events The Big Crunch would seem to be vital, but recent research on supernova tends to suggest that there's some force in space continually expanding the universe, contrary to gravity.

The UNC Press, Workers' Paradox by Ruth O'Brien
By examining a series of judicial rulings from the first three decades of the century, she demonstrates that the emphasis on establishing the procedural rights of workers that is usually associated with the National Labor Relations Act of 1935 actually emerged over a decade earlier, in the Republican-formulated labor legislation of the 1920s.
O'Brien's findings underscore a paradox within the foundation of labor policy and the development of liberalism in the United States.

The theory behind posting speed limits on this classification of road is to reduce conflicts in traffic flow, thereby reducing accidents.
The paradox is that the desired effect from posting speed limits was achieved by removing them.

Apologetics Press - Epimenides' Paradox: A Logical Discrepancy In Titus 1:12?
However, when Paul spoke to Titus concerning his mission on the island of Crete, some critics have suggested that the apostle committed a logical fallacy by quoting the Cretan poet Epimenides: “One of them, a prophet of their own, said, ‘Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.’ This testimony is true” (Titus 1:12-13a).
This is a form of the logical paradox commonly known as Epimenides’ Paradox: “A Cretan said, ‘All Cretans are liars.’ ” If, as Paul affirms, this statement is true, then the statement is false because a Cretan, who is a liar, made it.
To say that “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons,” is to say that the Cretan society as a whole was immoral and decadent, not necessarily that every single individual in that society was a liar, evil beast, or lazy glutton.

There is a lower incidence of cardiovascular disease and cancer in Asia where people smoke heavily, which may be accounted for by high consumption of tea, particularly green tea, according to a review article published by a Yale School of Medicine researcher.
“We do not yet have a full explanation for the ‘Asian paradox,’ which refers to the very low incidence of both heart disease and cancer in Asia, even though consumption of cigarettes is greater than in most other countries,” said Bauer Sumpio, M.D., professor and Chief of Vascular Surgery in the Department of Surgery.
Sumpio, the lead author of the review in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons, said he and his colleagues reviewed more than 100 experimental and clinical studies about green tea in writing the article.

Einstein never really accepted quantum mechanics as a "real" and complete theory, struggling to the end of his life for an interpretation that could comply with his Relativity without implying "God playing dice", as he condensed his dissatisfaction with QM's intrinsic randomness and (still to be resolved) counter-intuitivity.
