A statement from the presidency issued late on Sunday said that Paramanga Ernest Yonli had formed a government of 36 people, one third of them drawn from the opposition.
Yonli, who was minister for the civil service until being appointed prime minister on November 7, takes over the finance portfolio himself.
Youssouf Ouedraogo, a Compaore supporter, remains minister of state for foreign affairs while Ram Ouedraogo from one of the opposition parties remains minister of state without portfolio.
